The early to mid 00s were generally a musical wasteland, but a few bands released a few singles that are just classics. Gin Blossoms are right there at the peak of the famous but underrated that not a lot of non-US people know about. Glad I came across this album, on which two songs are just upper echelon, and it's criminal these songs aren't celebrated every day: 'Hey Jealousy' and 'Found Out About You'. Pure goodness.

Well I’ve seen a lot of people having issues with these LPs being warped. I guess I was lucky because my rusty brown records are flat as a board, quiet, and the sound quality blows away the regular single LP version.

For what it is worth by brown vinyl copy is silent, flat and sounds great. Not all of these are messed up. Bring on more classic alt titles in 45rpm 2LP sets!
  • Llathidan
I bought the clear vinyl but it arrived warped that's a big shame because I really want this record. I hope SRC vinyl pay close attention to its products and more important pay attention to customer's words
  • Saintrius
How's this pressing sounding? Don't want to pull the trigger just yet but hoping it's a good pressing.
  • Jeronashe
for anyone reading this, it's decent. fair for 20 bucks.
  • Malalanim
Sounds great to me, although it is slightly warped - clear vinyl version.
  • Mr_NiCkNaMe
Can confirm both vinyl are severely warped, on top of this, I ordered the clear one and got the rusty brown instead.

Got mine today from Amazon today. 45 RPM, src branding, same barcode, clear vinyl though. Anyone else get clear?

Received my copy in the mail today after MONTHS of waiting, and both vinyl discs are significantly warped. This is absolutely unacceptable and I am more than annoyed by this, as it's not my first time having to contact SRC Vinyl to correct one of their mistakes. I doubt I will buy anything from SRC ever again after this. Furthermore, unless a replacement is shipped overnight to me or I am immediately refunded, I will rip them a new one all over social media and elsewhere. The quality control is non-existent in this case, which is bullsh*t considering they were paid for this immediately while myself and others had to wait months for the album to be pressed, manufactured and shipped. SRC, while good-looking on paper, routinely drops the ball on this sort of thing and it needs to be known amongst the online vinyl community if it is not corrected IMMEDIATELY.

Mine came warped as well, but amazingly still playable. They wouldn't replace my copies and also gave me the ridiculous line about putting books on it for a week.

I'm always weary about ordering records through the mail. You don't know how they're transported, there could be several other packages sitting on or leaning against them, they could be in a vehicle sitting in ridiculous heat, the mail person could be handling them carelessly. There are just too many factors that could negatively impact the quality of vinyl you are about to receive. I know it's difficult because mail order is sometimes the only option. I personally have had too many experiences like this too.

Mine arrived warped as well. My replacement copy was even more warped. The lady then told me to sit a book on it for a week then call back. I've been trashing them on Facebook for a while now. I'm done with them.
  • inform
if you ask for a refund get ready to wait for weeks. They have the worst customer support I have ever seen.
  • Landarn
One of the better sounding vinyl. Cannot vouch for the other 1xLP pressings, but this 2xLP@45rpm is very well done.
  • Xmatarryto
I was really happy with the way it sounded. Love they made it a 2xLP@45. Glad I preordered this, it should become a gem!
  • Tantil
shady label SRC Vinyl cant imagine this pressing is worth a damn...
  • Ral
Kevin Gray mastered this and is considered one of the best in the business; it has nothing to do with the label.
  • Ishnllador
This is inaccurate. There is no crowdfunding of their titles. They're licensing everything from the original labels and, in many cases, the product gets manufactured by the original label group. They seem to mostly have access to things from Universal Music Group, but I don't really know the connection.
  • Lianeni
I would go for the single LP version, I bought their second album on that label and I think they did a much better mastering job. SRC has a history of mastering vinyl too loud, the only benefit is that it's 45 rpm so it's better than an average pressing by them.
  • Dalarin
Why are they shady? I've had a couple of good experiences with them, purchasing this album being one of them. In my opinion, their customer service is outstanding.I am interested about your shady experience with them though as I'm sure others would be.Great album by the way, looks good, packaged well and sounds great.

Let's be realistic: it's a crowd-sourcing site. SRCVinyl not going to be Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab. Instead it will be very inconsistent, because of the level of funding that they receive varies by project. I took a chance with New Miserable Experience, and it came out better than I expected.
  • VAZGINO
I've never experienced anything shady with SRC. Everything I've purchased from them has been top-notch. Just got this in the mail and it looks beautiful.
  • Fordrelis
I've always liked the SRC Vinyl exclusives. This one sounds pretty great for a mid-90s album.
  • Cashoutmaster
Finally getting a vinyl issue. Been waiting for many years on this.

So I went ahead and bought the 24/96 version of Miserable a couple weeks ago from Discogs (who are apparently based in Italy). The double CD album arrived the other day finally, and I gave it a listen on my premium gear (Sony PHA-2 connected to my smartphone and my Sony MDR-1A headphones)................it sounded f'in' great!! Definitely no complaints on the sound quality! They did a great job! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!Additional notes regarding this remastered version:Just to clarify, the album WAS remastered in Hi-Res 24/96, but then of course b/c it's a CD, the 24/96 files had to be DOWNSAMPLED to 16/44.1 (Redbook). Despite what you might think, this MATTERS NOT b/c all this high-res stuff is pretty much just marketing BS. The only reason why the Hi-Res albums sound so great is b/c they use a BETTER MASTER on the Hi-Res releases than they typically do on the CD and esp mp3 releases. It's a proven fact! I actually downsample ALL my Hi-Res albums to Redbook FLAC or ALAC for backup (still lossless), and then store them as AAC (320 kbps CBR) on my smartphone. It takes up WAY less space and sounds exactly the same (trust me). Just as long as you don't downsample them to mp3 (or below 256 kbps AAC) you'll be good. lol So go ahead and buy it. Use iTunes or whatever program to downsample & rip it to 320 kbps AAC (CBR or VBR), put it on your playing device, and enjoy!
