Well, it should go something like this... I guess I sent Robert Natus to subjective musical oblivion due to his choice to pursue the staggeringly 'exhilarating' schranz sound some years back. So OK, I had to bite half of my tongue when I heard that Dragon Slayer tune about a year back, but now it's up to the remaining half to get served to the lions.Whoever whenever wherever under whichever circumstance came to the idea of gluing together mr. Natus, the new comer Mezmeric and the legendary Submissions imprint must be the musical equivalent of Meyer Lansky!Damn, Robert Natus resurrects and gets absolved of all his Deadly Sins (Jesus, the cheezyness of that pun is so obvious I'm actually going to piss down my own throat), is offered the sacraments on a golden platter, drinks holy water out of muddy beer mugs and steals your women. The Robert Natus reconstruction of thie title track revolves around a 10,000 volt spherical theme reminiscent of those one could hear throughout the years on Kanzyani's Learning How To Do It, Jamie Bissmire's The Old Straight Track, or any of the more rough-hewn and raucous efforts of likes as Umek or I. Kennedy. The electromechanical means with which it electrifies, incinerates and exemplifies has no peer. He really takes it over the top and through the roof (literary, there's a hole in the ceiling at my place). Instantly grabbing percussion, the track kicks off with a commanding, resounding bass line laden over a 4x4 thud offset by rasping hat action, before a polyester, metallic loop enters the wheel of fortune and drives this sky high. Phew, speaking of properly executed techno which isn't afraid to glance at new horizons while giving confident nods to the past. Hopefully, this one will reach peak time classic status in no time. While the Stigmata remix is so far off my course that I won't even bother to venture into any form of negativism when listening to a release as good as this one, the original, despite not packing as much nitroglycerin between its testicles as the Natus contribution, does so much damage on present day dance floors, I dare you to questions its credentials. It lands somewhere between the lengthy and patience demanding build up of Jochem Paap's old Electric Deluxe track and the despotic determination to knock the crowd off their feet as soon as it's dropped which I really enjoyed on Bas Mooy's grand "Play Dead EP" last year on Planet Rhythm. Over emphasized snares, multiple bleeps and siren pierces arising from the background all safely guiding to you know what without me saying it out loud. About as original as Courtney Love's new hair dye, but in terms of effectiveness and crowd feedback, I haven't come across anything better in 2011. You didn't actually buy this 12" because you were expecting the new Chomsky essay, did you know?
