By all means this is a good release. Otto didn't fail to deliver another production of exceptional quality but it's overall value is cheapened by the trite & obsequious premise. In fact, if this album was made using conventional Otto samples it would be A LOT better. But the truth is that listening to people shit & puke, even in Otto's brilliantly assembled way, is about as entertaining as you'd think. You're either really into it & disturbed, or you'll pretty much shelve this after 1-2 listens. Overall, I'd say it was a misappropriation of Otto's talent. While I know that a conceptually audacious project like this is right up Otto's alley, it's a bit of a shame that his time went into something so kitschy and ephemeral. It's just not the type of thing you'll put on & listen to time & time again... even for Otto. These tracks could've been so much more. But ultimately, the concept just compromises the artist's capabilities. Otto certainly came through with his standard high-quality production but it's still just people shitting & puking from beginning to end. And all the fancy programming & production in the world can't hide that, making this a novelty item destined for collectors & kitsch enthusiasts alone.
