pq (written in lower case) is just a two letter named music project of Maarten Vandewalle and Samir Bekaert. You’ll never find us here is their debut album released in 2010.It is a 14 track album of pure relaxed music or we can say “art”. The album encompasses modern classical, acoustic guitar and drone effect (most notable in Jocelyn and Hold Me), infused lush fully with electronica. One can also hear glitch sound being used – in track like A taste of diminished expectation – the sound is evident.Beeps and Bloops sound in this album is used minimally in the background, almost sounds like the drops of rainfall, plus the electronica style gives bell like sound, which really compliments the melodies in this album. There’s a sense of innocence in this album – Louise on Earth actually uses the sweet vocals of a child accompanied by lyrics grateful to unknown.Electronic listener who is familiar with such style can draw the similarities of this album with Xela’s beautiful album “For Frost Mornings and Summer Nights". But only confined to glitch and beeps and bloops – both those albums are unique in their own way.The last track is a remix of somebody should repeat my summer and it concludes the album – Listeners! After finding themselves completely soaked in the sweet melodies of tracks, this last colossal bass driven with airy atmosphere track titillates them.pq (❤) - strongly recommended album.
