DigiCult at his best! All tracks here are a bit progressive and relatively easy to listen to, I remember enjoying this three years ago and it still rocks today! I recken The Optimist as his best work btw.

The Lucid Nation is certainly a high-quality production; perhaps not as theme-orientated as Out of This World, although I couldn't discern a theme if there was one. The first thing to strike me about this release is very few tracks (two, in fact) are Digicult on their own; the rest are all collaborations or at least featuring other artists. U-Recken, arguably the finest psytrance DJ around at the moment, makes a memorable cameo in the opening track before leaving Digicult on their own for the strangely psychological Microcosmos. The collaboration with DNA, perhaps unsurpisingly, leaves us hanging a little with Rites of Passage, before U-Recken returns with Into The Heartland, a track that had done the rounds for a while before this full release. Digicult are on their own for Matter of Thought, a beautiful and insightful piece that then leads on to what I consider to be the peak of the album, Medusah. Digicult and Tropical Bleyage seem to be a match made in heaven, and the Serbian duo have the stage to themselves for the album's encore, their own magnificent remix of Awaken the Dream. Digicult do love their strings, which they pull off well to suggest a classical background. They also enjoy producing uplifting, almost emotional electronica and they like to invite their friends in to collaborate. Although a strangely different atmosphere to Out Of This World, The Lucid Nation at times certainly does reach the heights that we know these guys are capable of.
