If something exists as the ultimate live album Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out comes (1970) nearby. Everything a rock concert so exciting is there on captured, and more than any plate it is also responsible for the badge of honor by The Rolling Stones: ' the greatest rock and roll band in the world '. The recordings were made during two nights at New York's Madison Square Garden in 1969. The band draws mainly from the material of their (at the time) most recent albums Beggars Banquet and Let It Bleed, but also seizes back to some old farts from the time they the pubs of London, where Chuck Berry made unsafe by as much as two covers is honored. With the what charismaloze but brilliant guitarist Mick Taylor as a replacement for Brian Jones is this may be the most solid occupancy of the group ever. The concert begins smashing with a hard rocking version of Jumping Jack Flash and comes to a head with a swirling version of Midnight Rambler. False tuned guitars (Stray Cat Blues) and Charlie Watts that the beat turn around (the beginning of Little Queenie) wear only but to the loose feel. Even the public comments are literally to mean (' Paint It Black, you devils! '). Many live albums would follow but this remains the ultimate concert registration of the Stones.
