These guys really had the house rockin' when they made this one. Skankin' good, polished production and some exceptional song-writing. Put this one through your sound system and you'll have a time getting your girlfriend to sit down. (love to dance) They also love a man who can cook so let's start at the 'Salad Bar'. More R&B than reggae or ska with great horns, vocals and of course the lyrics like "let's dance to the marmalade...". 'Tonight Is Your Night' keeps the dance moving with more R&B styled grooves. Next up lovers rock / reggae. 'Samson & Delilah', a beauty that is surely one of their very best. Sophisticated and smooth. Excellent remaster that adds clarity to the mix. By now your girl (still dancing) will be saying you 'Got No Brains'. Forward selector... The SKA party gets jumpin' now served up nicely on 'My Girl Lollipop'. Cool backing vocals on 'Falling Out Of Love' with a swing ska-beat, more clever lyrics. Still dancing... melodic and non-stop grooves. More R&B with some dub style effects on drums and those wonderful horn arrangements, 'Seventh Heaven' is another standout track as is 'Educating Marmalade'. "Let's toast to the marmalade... hahahahahahaha hahahahah..." 10 bonus tracks round out this CD reissue that includes their memorable hit 'That'll Do Nicely' as well as 7" versions of 'Lollipop' and 'Sam & Delilah'. 'Ben E. Wriggle' extended. Some silly stuff, fun stuff, party music and big hits from one of the GREAT English bands. Certainly uplifting if nothing else. Happy skankin'...
