Oh boy! what a sham this whole Remastered lark is turning out to be. I hate to rip on Miss Moyet, but 'Sony Music Modest!' has done her no favours with this CD release.Poor Miss Moyet's lovely voice is distorted with blare! Only a couple of her older tracks escape the complete abuse of Indifferent "Recording Engineers" on this compilation. I guess this CD got caught up in the compression wars which are supposed to have come to ahead at then end of the Noughtyies. I should have known better, guess I forgot when making my purchase of this release. Does any one know if the original unremastered version is any better!? I can't imagine that it is. What's seems to have happened here is that when each track was laid, they were laid from their original state of recording, then compile on to a master, which was then compressed to the hilt! There was no remastering involved here. No attention of care or detail to adjustment of sound levels was given to any of these tracks found on this edition. Again as I stated on a review given for 'Bryan Adams Ultimate'. I can't belive that such reputable recording companies such as Sony! can allow such releases to pass into the market place, that they have such bad recording staff in their studio's killing music from the inside. In this day and age it is truly astounding that these recording companies can trash out these releases without due care and the music buyer then has no recourse after they have been sold and ripped off. To me this is a form of extortionate conglonmeratisim that recording artists should appose, as their art is been defiled. There should have been a recall of this release by the manufacturer. Shame on you Sony, nothing "modest" about this release. A blatant discrace if you ask me.
