The history of the Golden Earring begins in 1961, though the band with Rinus Gerritsen and George Kooymans than even The tornado's. Two years later the name was changed to The Golden Earrings, and another two years after that, the Hague, extended band with singer French Kalam and drummer Jaap Eggermont his first hit with Please Go. In 1967 is Kalam replaced by Barry Hay and in 1969 is the classic line-up as ex-Earring-Livin' Blues Cesar Zuiderwijk the place behind the drum kit. During the 25 years after the band Please Go to Golden Earring with the shortened name countless hits with songs like Back Home, Buddy Joe, Radar Love, Bombay, Weekend Love, Long Blond Animal, Twilight Zone, Going To The Run and Yes! We're On Fire. And who are all between 39 songs on the double collector The Devil Made Us Do It.
