With the single Leg Caught Stealing (1990) provided Jane's Addiction one of the first major crossover hits, after which the mix between rock and funk at the beginning of the 1990s could finally break through to the general public. Frontman Perry Farrell quickly proved too eccentric for the acquired star status. Not soon after the album Ritual De Lo Habitual (1990) he disbanded the group, after which he made two nice with Pornography For Pyros albums, which, however, is not the great success of his previous band equaled. Guitarist Dave Navarro joined short time to at the competitor The Red Hot Chile Peppers. Thirteen years after Ritual appears quite unexpectedly a new album of Jane's Addiction, on which the Group (only bassist Eric Portner is replaced) continue, as if the band never apart. That means the familiar energetic blend of (prog) rock and funk, which Farrell are sometimes prone to hysteria and overwrought vocals. A convincing comeback of one of the important groups of the ' 90s '.
