Foretold in the Language of Dreams... a trip through stripped down Middle Eastern tones and flavors, minimalist drones and colors, Natacha Atlas at the forefront, guiding us through passages unknown. It is both comforting and haunting, an unexpected excursion for the more typically upbeat Atlas, more ambient than ethnic and more thoughtful than deliberate. We have the treat of hearing Atlas in spoken word in some tracks, a rarity her previous albums did not afford us. Highly recommended, for fans of both Atlas and ambient music in general.
