Shoegaze music sometimes bear strange results... Mess is such a case. Over steady drumbox pounding are crumbly walls of guitar chords waving their sounds, while the bass is playing slightly funky. On top some keyboard sounds and something that sounds like a female makin noises, but actually there is nothing understandable. The lyrics are printed in the booklet, but there is _not_ one single point where the lyrics may refer to the actually sung, whatever. Must be part of the concept.. or the vocals were so bad, they tried to hide it in the mix. Some songs -they even may not be songs, because these are more tracks- end with sound gimmicks from a lo-fi attitude, others like "Waving" were completely distorted.Anyway, strange album, and some of the tracks are really bad and annoying (especially the first part from 1 to 6), others are quite danceable (with restrictions) or seem to be talking about private apocalypse..Hard to get into it. Tracks like "Paranoid" or "Sleep" may help if you can bear an amount of unsigned distorted guitar noise.Overall I give 5.8 out of 10 points.
