Has anyone else noticed quite muddy audio quality from this release?

I have the UK pressing myself and have never heard the US issue. I really want the US release because I'm sorta OCD when it comes to collecting records. I like to buy original pressings according to country of origin, since in this case Rough Trade is UK based I want it based on the fact that Galaxie 500 was an American band and therefore, the US press is what I'd like to own. However, the UK press sounds amazing and I assumed the same could be said for all pressings, but I might rethink this if the US press isn't a quality pressing.
