Tears For Fears - Everybody Wants To Rule The World flac mp3 download

The A-side is one of the best-mastered tracks I've ever heard on a vinyl record, it sounds dozens of times better than when I listened to it on the radio as a child. So much room for the instruments, so much added tone. The B-side was unfamiliar to me, it's a cool ambient track that also interpolates bits of the guitar part of "Everybody Wants To Rule the World". It's not much different from a Boards of Canada track. A must-have for synth-pop fans.

This is a tricky one. Both a 33 and a 45 were released as 12 inch single, both with the same 880 659-1 catalog number.

I just noticed that in the photos that are provided here, the jacket clearly states 45 RPM. My copy does not. Also, my copy is not the blue Mercury label on the EP itself. The one I have is a black Mercury label, and that does not say 45 or 33 RPM either. Interesting. There is, in small print, Phonogram Ltd. (London) written on the back side of the jacket, directly in the middle at the very bottom, At the far left on the bottom the Mercury logo is present, and at the far right is says "Manufactured and Marketed by Polygram Records. I almost wonder if this is a promo copy, however there are no markings to say as such.

The b-side "Pharaohs" is worth the price alone. It is an absolutely beautiful instrumental piece. Pharaohs does feature a recorded voice, taken from a British shipping forecast, to a very satisfying effect. The music is largely a remix of Everybody Wants to Rule the world, with some very pronounced piano, but you wouldn't know it until the very end if you weren't all that familiar. I am a pretty big Tears for Fears fan, but somehow this small moment in their discography might be my favorite of all. Pharaohs also appears on the comp titled Saturnine Martial Lunatic, which seems easy enough to find.
