Big fanatic of KAI TRACID joints here; I have a modest, yet satisfying hoard of Tracid Traxxx records by the man, plus his ANGEL OF DEATH, A*S*Y*S, (etc.) output, alongside WARMDUSCHER, DJ HELLRAISER, etc., and even some of Kai's work on YODA, PULSEDRIVER, and others' tracks. So FORMIC ACID gripped from a "free bin" at the local record shop was a welcome surprise find.I hear strong encroachment into mid-'90s UK Psytrance here; reminiscent of 12 MOONS, PLANET B.E.N., BLUE PLANET CORPORATION, etc., and in lock-step with then-evolving developments by COSMO CHAOS, ECT, LEMURIANS, PSYCHAOS / JOTI SIDHU, ABSOLUM, YUMADE, BAMBOO FOREST, etc.Kai Franz's FORMIC ACID is definitely in good company here.

A must in any hardtrance collection, and probably the best that Kai Franz has produced in his career."Eternia" is a classic acid-hardtrancer with cool vocal samples and astonishing acid trance melody with emotion... the "ETERNIA!!!" roar gives this track quite a dark side and sounds cool in this track. "Waveblower" is a more typical Kai-style acid trancer with a "Super-heroish melody" and typical beats but my favorite part is the chorus in the end of the track gives this hard track a bit of emotion. "Mysteria" wasn't produced by Kai himself and thus sounds totally different than anything he has produced instead of a typcial hard acid track, this track is more of a happy hard trancer, lovely ambient intro, gong drum and nice jingling melody a nice track to end this e.p. "The Creation" is similar to "Eternia" in many ways and isn't anything new. "Acid Accent" is the more acidic track in this ep with hard acid synths and is closer to "acid" than "acid trance" the last seconds in this track are acciieedd!!! a must for hard trance and acid fans alike any acid hater should definitely stay away from this.
