does anyone know if this is remastered at all. is this another cherry red hatchet job where you can hear the pops & clicks from the vinyl they took the 12"s from?

Isn't the reason for the problematic quality of a number of Cherry Red re-issues because their York (?) HQ, where the original masters were stored, burnt down taking the tapes with it - so the company has to source from vinyl or, if there were already releases pre-fire, early CD copies (which had been taken from the original tapes). However, as has been repeatedly proved in the Classical music world, vinyl to digital mastering can sound superb - the technology is certainly good enough to do it well - and, unlike with 1920s and 1930s Classical recordings, there is surely a far better chance of acquiring a good condition, good quality source record.This Should The World reissue (which I'm having stupid trouble getting) is licensed from Beggar's Banquet who presumably gave Cherry Red access to their original recordings which would account for better sound quality..

I really like this release. I would suggest you find a cheap copy.

hello, i listened to clips of the remastered STWFTFA on amazon and the quality is top notch, i didn't hear any crackles or skips. but of course this is just my opinion. i loved what i heard.
