Capturing the first ten years of Peter Murphy's solo career, each album features bonus tracks comprising of period rarities including original demos, single B-sides, early and alternate mixes and many previously unreleased recordings Including “Critic’s Choice”, “Groovy Place”, “Sail On White” and a full band take on “Cool Cool Breeze”.

This set also features many production roughs of Peter’s final album for Beggars Banquet, the sublime Cascade, including a seven minute + early take of the title track, appearing here under its working title of “Satin Nights”.

This gorgeous package of 5 albums is a gracious introduction to one of the most underrated and singular singers of our time … that singular voice, a rich baritone caress, shining brilliantly like a diamond cut from a star has been illuminating the musical world with profound, intimate and inspiring compositions for the last 40 years or so! Peter Murphy is one of the greatest singers of our time, he is one of the last stars!I don't think anyone could complain about this box set, with its humble price tag and gorgeous packaging, it should appeal to not only the devoted but also to the curious. Beggars Banquet have produced a wonderful package and as one reviewer said, "This five CD set is packaged in a hard-cover book and is a fitting tribute to the first decade of Peter Murphy as a solo artist".One could use a myriad of adjectives to describe these 5 Stellar Albums (and their bonus tracks too). However I would prefer to quote the following, "The proof, as always, must come with the eating, so I suggest you claim your portion and relish it".

I purchased this book/box set recently and am very pissed off. They omitted the 12" extended mix of BLUE HEART and the Club Mix of FINAL SOLUTION which has a powerful cold ending on the vinyl FADES OUT!! Unacceptable!!

There are five versions of "Final Solution":Album Version (3:56)Full Version (4:45)Club Version (5:30)Third And Final Mix (5:50)Unreleased Version (5:14)Only the album version fades out - the other versions all have cold endings; however, the 'Third And Final Mix' ending is more pronounced. The 'Full Version', 'Third And Final Mix', and 'Unreleased Version' are all available on the 2011 Cherry Red reissue, along with the 12" mix of "Blue Heart."Not sure why you're so angry - the tracklisting was readily available before you bought the release, and not every version of every track can be included on a single disc.
