Having both the original press and this bootleg on vinyl, I can tell you the difference is night and day. The bootleg is much quieter, very compressed, lacks bass, mids and the punch that is present on the original. Not horrible to have in the collection if you can't find an original, but the sound quality isn't even close to the real deal.

Had that limited white vinyl also. It's awful, a cheap digital CD-Transfer, no gain at all. Sold it, stay way!

Does anyone know how well this album sounds on vinyl? And if anyone has the original issue, how does the reissue stack up?

A while ago I caved in and bought it. Sonically, the album stacks up to my 320kbps MP3 rips. The only differences are that the songs on side 2 are about -2.5dB quieter than side 1, possibly done to fit the grooves on one side. The double tracked vocals on Texan Book of the Dead are slightly more legible on vinyl than they are on my rips.It is likely that the bootleg is nothing more than the CD rip. I have yet to listen to the original vinyl.

I am also very curious, anyone?
