Billy Joel - Cold Spring Harbor flac mp3 download

Billy Joel's debut album - this is the 1983 remixed and remastered speed corrected version. One of my favourite of his albums, it features material that is more pensive and introspective compared to his later albums, and very listenable. Sounding more like a folk record than a pop album, it's a good album to play on a rainy day.

Total noob here, but I keep seeing an 8-track version up for sale on ebay and the like, but I don't see it here. Is this an unofficial release or what? Anyone? Thanks.

FYI: This reissue uses the revised Columbia version of the master, not the original 1971 version.

Listening tests also give away an unprofessional dupe job, as you can hear drop-outs on song fades across the whole LP.

Would be great to get the original version of this album rereleased. The current version available is a re-mixed version with overdubs from the 80's. Unfortunately Billy Joel absolutely hates this album and the chances of it getting a reissue are pretty slim.

These can be distinguished from the original by lack of the "constellation" in the label art, and the folded-and-glued cover vs. the legitimate cover, which had a traditional pasted-on rear cover slick.

This version also plays at the incorrect speed (8% higher pitch).

Same in Australia. Americans spell a lot of things differently.

On the back cover of the CD (on the sideways, where the title is) and on the CD of my copy (Sony/Coloumbia, 1991), I think there's a print error: it's been pressed "Cold Spring HarboUr" instead of "Cold Spring Harbor". Somebody noticed it or knows something about it? Hope my english is comprehensible. Regards.

Beside the random capitalization I believe its a fake A remaster of "Cold Spring HarboUr" in 1991 sounds like a bad fake masquerading as the original 1971 pressing

Well, since it's not pressed in USA you never know how one country spells one word or another. That's probably how they spell Cold Spring HarboUr.

Where was it printed? If it was in Canada, then it would make sense. Canadians spell Harbour with a u, and Americans don't.
